Why the Eco-Ledger Tracks More Than Planting

A planted seedling is only the start of an environmental record. The proposed BIDX eco-ledger is intended to connect an eligible transaction to a restricted allocation, an approved campaign, spending evidence, field coordinates, and published proof.

The ledger should also show what is still pending. A receipt may confirm spending, a photograph may show field activity, and a survival check may confirm whether trees are alive months later. Those are different evidence states.

This planning approach is meant to reduce greenwashing risk. BIDX should not present estimated carbon impact or plantation totals as verified results until the evidence standard and independent assurance process are approved.
